A little Puzzling

Yesterday I spent the day shopping...
Picking up a few things for my party next week, which EVERYONE is invited to...more details about that later though.
But first, I found a book that I think my dad will like.
He's a puzzle lover! Brain teasers, jigsaws, crosswords you name it, he likes them all.
So when I found this book filled with these puzzles, I thought he might like it!
To figure out the word puzzles, you merely read the letters, numbers and symbols aloud.
Keep saying them over and over, until you get it.
Some are easy, some are hard. Each has a picture that can help too. FUN!
So do you know the answer? OH, I DO! I DO!
Oh, wait I have the answers in the back of the book...
(I'll post the answer tomorrow if you can't figure it out)

I also finally signed up on Facebook, I know! Something else to spend countless hours of doing nothing, right? But I thought it would be fun to stay in touch with all of you too!
So feel free to add me to your friends list.
It's all new for me, and a little over whelming too (like anything new)
I made a Facebook badge..over there-->>>
But I can't figure out what the "status" means?
I thought it was married or single, but after I changed mine to married, it still stats "none"?
I'm clueless!

A phone call

Mom -"Maaarrrria! I can't believe you!"
Me -"Why?"
Mom -"I can't believe you put that on your blog!"
Me-"What are you talking about?"
Mom- "Well, I went to Blockbuster and got True Blood!"
Me-"Did you like it?"
Mom-"OMG, I thought you were a good girl..."
Me-(looking down at my toes now) "I know it's a little racy, but the story is really good"
Mom- "and the beginning (the credits) it's sooooooooo gross"
Me- "I know, Sorry mom, I guess it's not for everyone. It's like a VERY grown up version of Twilight"
Mom-"lol"
Me-"lol"

Today I will have some new beads on my website, perfect for the 4th of July! I'm off to download pics

Good fences make good neighbors

I like "most" of my neighbors...
In fact my next door neighbor is also my dentist, who is pain-free I might add, a must when it comes to dentists, right? So I really like him.
But I'm not as fond of my neighbors who live life on the wild side...
You know the ones who stop by your house and have wild pool parties when they are not even invited. Or the ones who think nothing of tipping over your trash cans, just for a good laugh.
Who needs neighbors like that anyway...
So after all these years, we've decided it was time to put a fence around part of our property...

So this weekend we dug 40 post holes (we rented a post hole digger)

Then we started to put up the panels...

We now have 85 feet of pretty fencing...220 feet to go!
Then we'll line the fence with wire, to keep Molly in and everyone else out.
Then I'll place a little sign that reads:

Dear Mr. Raccoon, Mrs. Possum and Miss. Coyote We regret that your presence are no longer welcome at your house... We are sorry, The Grimes Family

Getting loaded

As I'm going through the list of Summer books that everyone has suggested... Norma, Stephanie and Linda all suggested Sookie Stackhouse, which is also a series True Blood on HBO. Sadly I don't have HBO, so I thought I would miss out on that one.
But, while at Block Buster this week, there it was, the first season on DVD.
After watching the first two DVD's (3 more to go) I can't wait to listen to the books!
Which are on order now.
Thanks again Linda, Stephanie and Norma!

So as I start loading my iPod with all my Summer reads...
This will be the first (of many)

Which was suggested by my friend Julie. It's the sequel to Chocolat, which I loved!

Then this...Which Judi suggested.
I think it's going to be a great Summer for books!

As for beads, nothing extra this week. I made lots of fish (Design of the Month)
So next week for sure I'll have something new, I'll keep you posted.
We have two more weeks left for the "Where in the World" game. So there is still time to win a ticket for a prize. The grand prize is a bracelet and I'll be making three more pendants which will be given away by a random drawing.

Have a great weekend!

A Hairy Situation

Did you know that there is company that makes hair mats to help clean up oil spills on our coastlines.
The mats are made from mostly hair that comes from salons. So next time you are getting your hair cut, ask them what they do with the those cut off ends. If they say "toss them in the trash" you might want to suggest the company above. And because it can be pricey to send all those split ends off in the mail, one salon recycles the foil that they use for highlighting to pay for the shipping. It's a win win for everyone.

Rapunzel

When a friend of mine mentioned to me that her grand daughter was auctioning off her hair to help pay for a trip to Spain next year with her Spanish class, I thought what a great idea!
I had no know idea there was a website where people could bid on hair! (like eBay)

After seeing her hair though (which is priceless, look how long and beautiful it is) I wasn't surprised to see how high the bids are...
She has had two bid so far, a wig company and a doll artist.
If you'd like to check it out, her listing number is 258202...bidding ends on June 28th.
Good Luck E.

Elderberry

Last weekend I noticed the Elderberry brushes on our property were covered with little flowers and baby berries. Actually I have been noticing them all around town lately, we even have a little Inn in town named after the berries. For some reason, in the 13 years we have lived here I have just left the berries for the birds to snack on. But this year I'm thinking about making jam from them.
Now I need to find a recipe...

Two Thumbs UP

Fun Fun Fun!
Saturday, Kurt and I joined a theater full of youngens for a couple hours of munchin on buttered popcorn, eating peanut M&M (my favorite) and enjoyed one fun movie!
Oh, Kurt's new nickname by the way is Doug (the dog)
Why you ask? Kurt does the same thing as Doug, he'll be talking and all of a sudden he says something off the wall? It's very funny...weird at times, but funny!

I think Pappashop has worked out all their bugs (let's hope)
But, in doing so, they lost all data for the last few days. Meaning all updates and pictures that I added on my site on Friday were lost in cyberspace. I have since update the bead page with the things that are still available.
Over the next few days I'll be working on the design of the month beads...
The first shipment is going out today...

Funny Friday Fotos

~My sister, Pam (back) sticking out her tongue and Me (front)~
My sister can always make me laugh...

~Me~
I guess it was just meant to-be that I'd grow up to own a turtle named Rosie!

Papashop seems to still be having problems, at least on my site.
I was able to load pictures of the beads & goodies, but I still can't load pics on the game page?!
So we'll start the "Where in the World" game back up on Monday...
Have a great weekend everyone, I know we will...we have no plans!
I'm thinking sleeping in, maybe breakfast out at our favorite place, maybe even a movie!
