Sunny Side Up

Around the corner from my dad's house is a little organic farm that sells fruit, veggies and fresh eggs...

One morning on my walk, I came along a group of these guys hangin' out by the fence.
I really think I'm going to have to get a few of these of my own next year...
All I need is a chicken coop, pretty please Kurt :o)

I'll be posting new Tide Pool Pendants on Monday.
Have a wonderful weekend!

The Fruit Salad Walk

Taking a walk in my dad's neighborhood, you can gather everything needed for a fruit salad...

Juicy pears...

I'm not sure what these are, but they look tasty...

Fresh strawberries anyone...

Almost everyone has a orange tree or two...

Avocados too! I wish I could have one of these at home!

And Lemons? Let's just say there must be lots of lemonade being served.

Maria, Maria quite contrary...

How does your garden grow?

Well, it seems like things are taking their sweet time this year...
I've only had about a half a dozen tomatoes, but there are a ton of green ones and I'm hoping they don't decide to ripen all at the same time.
The zucchini? Only two! But there are a bunch of baby ones...
The corn is doing pretty good.
My beets? I think they are doing ok, I haven't pulled one up yet to see.
The pumpkins are growing a little bit each day (note to my mom) I hope you planted yours, but I'm thinking I'll be winning that pumpkin pie this year for the largest pumpkin!

Now my Basil is growing like weeds!
I've been making pesto every couple days...I love love love pesto!
We've been having it with everything...chicken, pasta and even on sandwiches.

I'm getting ready to head to S.B (to help my dad)
I'm taking along everything I need to make my Tide Pool Pendants. So when I return I'll have a few more of those to add on my website. So be looking for those the first week in August.
I have also decided to extend July's Design of the Month into August.
I just haven't had the time to come up with something new for August. I hope you understand...
Have a great week!

Blast from the Past

Photo from the Past
My sister Pam on the left, Me on the right

If you are as old as I am, you might remember "having" to wear bathing caps when you were in public pools. I hated those things! No really! I HATED THEM!
Are we wearing matching bathing suits?
I think we are! No, we are not twins, there is a three year difference! lol

A little Squirrely

This little guy has been hangin out in the yard lately, eating any old acorns he might find...

Which makes him very thirsty...

Sorry about the dark photo above, it was taken from inside the house through the window. Actually all the photos were, but the last one turned out really dark for some reason...

*Update-Anthony just sent me a updated photo of the drinking squirrel, he fixed it the best he could and told me next time I take photos through the window, open the screen first! lol
*Note to Anthony, I would have, but if I did...I would have scared him off! Thanks for fixing the photo...

Time Traveler

I loved the book, I'm hoping the movie will be good too!

I added a fun bracelet on my site.
Sticks & Stones
It's made up of hand-made sterling silver links (sticks)
And tiny beach pebbles (stones)
I added a sterling tag that reads "STICKS & STONES"

I will also be adding a couple more Tide Pool pendants today on my site.

Can you say was a smokin' 105 here yesterday!
Although with weather like that who needs a kiln to anneal the beads, just lay them in the sun for a bit...stay cool

Honey and Lemon

One night last week after leaving the hospital, my sister and I went to dinner and then walked around town window shopping. We walked by the store L'Occitane, which smelt so yummy. So we walked in...I fell in love with so many of their scents, but the Honey & Lemon was heavenly. So I had to get the foaming jelly and hand cream. It's heaven...
And their pretty shopping bags are made out of recycled apple peels, so in my compost bin it went.

This week I'll be putting some Tide Pool Pendants up on my website (a few each day, Monday-Wednesday) That way I can have them in the mail before I head back down to Santa Barbara later this week.
I also have been having fun doing some metal work (a good stress relief)

So Proud

Anthony surprised me last week with a copy of a textbook,
Lab on a Chip Technology
that has a chapter that he is first author on. We are so proud!
Chapter 13, page 185.
It's about Shrinky-Dink Microfluidics, which I find so funny. Because I use to love to play with Shrinky-Dinks! Now Anthony does too, just in a different way.
While doing searches about the book, I found that Anthony was even on Wikipedia under References. So cool Anthony!

I'm looking forward to this weekend...swimming, relaxing, gardening, barbecuing, maybe even a movie too...
Have a great one!

Back Home

I'm back home for now...
My dad came home on Tuesday and is now resting. Well, resting in between everything he needs to do to recover... breathing excises, stretching and walking. My sister Lynette is with him right now holding down the fort and I'll be heading back down in a week.
Thank you for all your kind words and well wishes.

Today and tomorrow I'll be working on mailing out the Design of the Month Necklaces
(thanks again for your patience)

Then I'll be making more Tide Pool Pendants, which will be ready next week over on my website. So keep checking back if you would like one.

Hangin in

Greetings from Santa Barbara...
It's been a crazy week, to say the least. My sister Pam (from Arizona) and I took my dad into the hospital last Wednesday for a procedure that turned into be much more. They (the doctors) ended up having to do a quadruple bypass on him.
My dad is doing pretty good and we are counting our blessings because the outcome could have been much worse. I wanted to thank everyone for your kind words and your positive thoughts.
We are hoping my dad will be coming home in a few days. Once he does, he will need to have someone with him for at least 4 weeks. My other sister Lynette (from Texas) is flying in tomorrow and will be staying for two weeks. So between the three of us (doing shifts) my dad will be getting excellent care.

I should be heading back home sometime next week (probably Wednesday or Thursday)
If you have ordered the Design of the Month, those will be the orders I will be working on first. I did move the completion date back to 14-days (or more) Plus, during my last update on my website a few of the Tide Pool Pendants sold twice. (shopping carts didn't update fast enough) so I'll be working on those too. So I should have all of those completed and mailed out before my next shift to come back to S.B.
Thanks again for your kind emails...

Design of the Month (July)

Better late than never...right?
This month's design is all about the beach. For me,
Summer = The Beach
So this month's design is something lite...after all who wants to wear heavy jewelry when it's warm/hot?
Not I...
So I paired lightly etched glass beads (sea glass) with a freshwater pearl, Swarovski crystal on a dainty sterling chain.
You can check them out here
I also added a few more Tide Pool Pendants on the jewelry page, if you were looking for those.

On another note...
About a month ago while my dad was going through a medical procedure, they found that something was wrong with his heart. This Wednesday he goes into the hospital to get things fixed, hopefully as good as new. I'm heading down tomorrow to be with him for a couple days.
I'm taking along lots of beads (that I made over the weekend) so I'll be working on the Design of the Month while there. I'll have limited Internet access, so I'll return emails when I get home. Please keep my dad in your thoughts...

Happy 4th of July and Birthday Wishes!

Have a safe and happy one!

I myself will be wearing the above necklace, that my friend Helen made for me from Swarovski crystals...thanks again Helen...
And Birthday Wishes to Maureen (Anthony's girlfriend) who turns 22 on the 4th of July!

On Monday, I'll have The Design of the Month (July) ready to show you! Sorry for the delay...

Movie Night

I was over on Rotten Tomatoes seeing what I wanted to rent this week. They gave Two Lovers an 84%. So that's what I picked up...along with popcorn and Hershey's Symphony bars (almonds & toffee chips) I love movie night...

A little delay...

It's the first of the month...(can you believe it?!)
Today is the day I should be showing off the new Design of the Month for July, right?
But, last weekend I receive a lot of orders for June's design, Hooked on I've been busy trying to get those done and shipped out before I show you July's Design.
Which is all done, I just need to photograph it.
(I think you'll like it)
It's something light and fun for Summer...I'm wearing mine right now.
So do check back and if you are on my mailing list, I'll send out a newsletter when it's ready...
