Tag, I'm it...

I've been tagged by Elaine , who makes the cutest tiaras!

The rules of tagging.
1. Link to tagger and display these rules on your blog.
2. Share 7 facts about yourself - some random, some WEIRD.
3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post by including links to their blog.
4. Let them know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

Here are 7 random/weird things about me...
1-I can't handle my feet being dirty, one time we stopped to take pictures and my feet got dusty and I made Kurt stop at the gas station so I could wash them off.

2-I'm dyslexic. I have the hardest time with numbers. Sometimes, when writing I still get my S and C mixed up.

3-I have never taken a lampwork class (but I'd love too)

4-I have an odd routine when it comes to using public restrooms. When washing my hands, I first get the paper towel ready to grab, next turn on the water and wash my hands, Next grab the paper towel I got ready, careful not to touch the dirty faucet, I turn off the water. Now I take the paper towel and I use it to get more paper towels (because after all this my hands are STILL WET!) Now that my hands are dry, I throw the paper towel away right? NOT YET! I will need it to open the bathroom door. Because I see TOO MANY people who do not wash their hands (Gross!) Next I see if I can make 2 points by tossing the towel in the trashcan ( I usually make it) My family thinks this is so weird!

5-I like puppy breath.

6-I have never had a (professional) manicure or pedicure.

7-I've been driving for 32 years (legally) and I have never gotten a ticket! Knock on wood :o)

Halloween Fairy

Making a Halloween Fairy...

Things you'll need...

-Old jar (I used a pickle jar)
-Halloween clip art (I found a Halloween post card at my card store)
-Black spray paint for jar lid
-Fun Halloween ribbons
-Moss (I use Spanish moss)

Cut out your fairy (leave extra paper at the bottom for glueing her in the jar) and add some wings to her (I made bat wings out of black paper)

Put some hot glue at the bottom of jar and attach your fairy. Next glue some moss at the bottom around your fairy.

Spray paint the jar lid black.Once lid dries, quickly put it on the jar (we wouldn't want your fairy to get away)
Tie some ribbons around the jar and enjoy!

Happy Halloween

Candy Bracelets

I found these pretty furnace glass beads in my studio, tucked away in a little box just waiting to be paired up with some pretty Swarovski crystals...you can find them on Esty

Ordinary

Enjoying a ordinary Fall morning, watching Molly (don't you love how the sun "lights up" her ears) hunting out the warm sunny spots to nap in while I checked emails, placed my orders for shipping supplies and glass, packed the last of the Esty orders (thanks again everyone!)

Now, I'm off to the studio, I've been working on some new things...

What a Croc

While I was at the phone store this weekend, something caught my eye...it was green & purple and it looked a lot like pair of my garden shoes.
How long have these been out? Croc o-Dials for your phone! So funny!

Bees, the secret life

Ever since we moved to the mountains (13 years ago) I have always wanted to raise bees.
Good for my garden, not to mention the honey!
But every time I bring this up to people, they look at me like I'm crazy!
They say it's too much work...
Last week while we were at the fair, there was a bee group, they had all kinds of info about raising bees.

Which has sparked my interest again...

Plus, look at the fun stuff I would get to wear!

Then we took the honey/water test....

What do you think a gallon of Water weighs? How about a gallon of Honey?
If you would like to know, I posted the answer below in the comment box...

Today one of my favorite books comes to the big screen! I can't wait to see it...

Have a wonderful weekend!

The Perks...

Every job has it's own perks...some better than others

Whether it's working in a candy shop, sampling chocolate (that would be my dream job!) or working at a clothing boutique where you get 50% off all the latest fashions (me, I'm a jeans & tee shirt girl) Or working at Starbucks where you can have as many Pumpkin Spice Lattes your little heart desires...yes those are back, I love Starbucks this time of year...
So what are the perks for being a bead maker?
Is it sitting next to your 1000 degree kiln on chilly Winter days? Or is it wearing those "cute" eye protection glasses while you are working? Oh I know...It must be those little hot flying pieces of glass that penetrate into your skin when you don't heat your glass up slowly (just kidding about the last two!)
No, it's doing trades with other bead makers of course!

My friend, Jenn made these cute sparkly pumpkins, sorry the picture does not do them justice...they are so cute! Thanks Jenn..
Just a little note...Free shipping will end tomorrow over at my Esty store, so if there is anything you'd like, what are you waiting for?! :o)

Cook me dinner, Mr. Fireman

With the cooler weather this week. It's time to get out the crock pot...
Years ago I bought a cookbook with recipes from firemen. Easy, fast and tasty!
Although I can't remember who I loaned that book to (hey, if you borrow my book, I want it back!) I still remember one of the recipes. It is so easy!

6-frozen chicken breasts
1-bottle of Russian salad dressing
1-small jar of apricot jam
1-envelope of onion soup mix

Mix the salad dressing, jam and soup mix.
Place chicken in crock pot and pour mixture over it.
Put on low heat and let it do it's thing for about 5-6 hours.
Serve with rice.

Better than Fair

Last week we went to the fair...
What's the fair without deep fried food, right?

Kurt tried the deep fried Spam (I tried to warn him it was going to be gross!)

I had to get the deep fried cupcake! Which was ok, but tiny!

We got tattoos (henna)

Which last for 3-4 weeks. Which is long enough for me, 5 minutes after getting mine I regretted the one I got! I picked a spider for Halloween. Why didn't I get something cute?
My favorite part was all the animals (of course)

Is this the cleanest cow you've ever seen?

Love this guys hair cut!

All the lambs were in sweaters and not because it was cold ( it's was 75 degrees)

But, the best was the pig races!

A little behind...

A little behind (no, not MY rear end!) my email...If you have sent me a email over this last week, I'm not ignoring you. I'm still playing catch up from while I was away.
But, I'm working on them (in between working on bead orders)

Trying to get in the mood...

With the holidays just around the corner, I'm trying to get my creative juices flowing...
I've been getting emails asking me when I'm going to start on my holiday beads?
So to help get the juices flowing, for a "short time" I'll be offering a few "past" holiday beads on Esty and to keep with the holiday spirit, there is free shipping on everything over there too!

Perfect weekend...

As we headed to the beach, we made a stop at my favorite pumpkin patch along the way. Where they have every kind of pumpkin you can imagine.

My favorites are the grayish-green Jarrahdales
So when I saw "Nest" carved into one, I just had to have it...

I loved all the pumpkin names too...

Molly helping pick out pumpkins...

It was the perfect weekend...

Hope...

This weeks goodies are in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
I hope you'll check them out, every penny goes to help find a cure...

I'm getting ready to walk out the door. This weekend is my birthday and Kurt's taking me on a long weekend get-away. After all, as I get older, one day just isn't long enough to celebrate! Right?!
Have a great weekend...xo
