Are you my Mother's?

Today as I was grocery shopping, I was heading down the cookie isle, a place I try not to go. So I took a deep breath...looked straight ahead and started walking (repeating to myself, don't look keep walking... don't look keep walking) BUT something caught my eye...I tried so very hard not to look, but I could not help it there they were...

Those pastel colored animal shaped cookies with sprinkles!
I was so saddened last year when Mother's went out of business, I thought no more of those Circus Cookies I loved so much!
I was tempted to buy a bag (for research, to see if they are as good as the ones I remembered) but I didn't, aren't you proud of me...
Has anyone tried them? Are they as good as the ones I remember?
I must say, I can't get them out of my mind now...

Monday Morning

An early Monday morning walk equals...

watching the sunrise
spotting the bunnies on the lawn
hearing the birds sing
exchanging hello's with early rising neighbors
watching the deer nibbling in the yards
and coming home with a wildflower bouquet...

Happy Arbor Day

This weekend I plan on seeing this movie.

The best part is, when you buy a ticket for opening week,
Disney will plant a tree in your honor.

Allergy Alert

Let me just say, when we found this little piece of property in my little town (14 years ago) and decided to build our home on it, it was NOT SPRING TIME!
Who in their right mind would build their house under a oak tree?
Now I'm not talking one oak tree...we tucked the back of our house (south facing) next to six large oak trees.
During the hot Summer months these trees give us the much needed shade which helps keep our house a little cooler on those hot Summer days.
We live on almost three acres that are studded with probably 40 oak trees? I've never counted.

So during the Spring (for 2-3 weeks) things look like this. Everything is covered in a thick coat of yellow pollen.

Last weekend while I was out in the garden getting the beds ready for planting, you could see the pollen falling, really...Luckily I'm not affected with allergies...

Somebody FINALLY woke up! She usually wakes up in March...

She spent the weekend basking in the sun and stretching her legs...

With the warm (hot) weather here for the next few days, I'm sure she'll be spending some time in her little pool too.

Grow Grow Grow

They are almost ready to head out into the garden, maybe even this weekend? I hear it's going to be in the high 70's here, perfect for playing in the garden. Plus, it will be nice to have my laundry room back again...

I received a few emails about yesterdays goodies, so next week I'm going to mix it up!
1st- I won't be sending out a newsletter when new beads are ready.

2nd-Once I have something ready, I'll put it up for sale (so check back often)

3rd-I'll list beads/goodies at different times, morning, noon and night (for people living in other time zones)

Everyday (starting around 6pm) you can find a certain someone in our house sitting in the same spot, starring out the same window, waiting for that same person to come home.

(one time I closed the blinds, she almost had a meltdown, no really a meltdown!)

Did someone fall asleep? I think she did...

Once that "fiery" truck pulls into the driveway, she...
Runs to back door.
Barks and jumps up and down
(I open the door)
Runs to gate.
Looks under gate.
Waits for gate to open.
It's a dog's life...

On the bead front, I'll start putting some new things on my website tomorrow...

A Woman's Prerogative

It's Tuesday, which means it's American Idol night at our house.
I always pick my two favorites (a guy and a girl) early on who I think might be the next A.I. winner.

For a long time now my picks were Danny and Allison. I really like them both.

But I've changed my mind...My "new" favorite (and the one I hope wins) is Adam!

I found he was the one I was looking forward to seeing each week.

Being a owner of a tiny Chihuahua with a tiny bladder, this video amazed me!
Not to mention walking on two feet, too funny!

We had our annual egg hunt GPS style (for the "kids")

Molly also found her egg filled with doggy treats, so everyone was happy...
