How very sweet! We didn't get much for Christmas when I was young, but we didnt' know any different either. My favorite gift was a metal kitchen sink/stove, which had a tray hooked on the back of the sink so we actually had running water. It came with dishes, pots & pans, and utensils. I was in heaven. And since I am a twin, most of our gifts were to the both of us. I had a built-in friend!
My first little girl make-up set from my Aunt, which my Mom would never have bought for me!
I had to laugh Alice, i have fond memories of a toy washing machine, sounding very similar to your toy above. I loved it. Think I'd be less impressed with one for Christmas now! Simpler times indeed.
