Pay back...

Many years ago I received an AARP envelope in the mail (mind you I wasn't even close to 50!) Well Kurt thought this was quite funny, and to this day teases me about it...
This week, look what arrived for him!
The funny part is this one arrived just in time to help Kurt celebrate his birthday this weekend!
Happy Birthday to my "old man"!

Special delivery...

You could imagine my surprise when I received this cute monkey in the mail this week!
I have been trying to get my hands on a monkey from Little Cotton Rabbits for sooooooooo long now...BUT sadly they sell out so fast and she makes so few of them, I finally resolved I was never going to have one...
Maureen (Anthony's girlfriend) told her mom, Pam (who is a great knitter) about them and how much I wanted one and she made a "lookalike" one for me! It turned out SOOOOOOO CUTE! Thanks again Pam! I just love her!

A busy week ahead...

After a somewhat relaxing weekend (I helped Kurt refinish the deck) I really need to get it together and "clean" my studio this week! I have been putting it off for too long (I would rather clean toilets, then my shop!) I guess that is why it's always so messy? Maybe it's because the days I have good intentions of cleaning, I get side tracked and find myself sitting in front of the torch, playing with glass, listening to a good book...NOT this time...I'm determined to have a clean & organize space...wish me luck!

My favorite time of year...What's not to love... the cooler days, the falling leafs, the joy of baking again (my kitchen is on hiatus in the Summer) cuddling up with a good book (and Molly) by the wood stove...

The Great Escape

Yesterday we decided to go to the movies to see the Dark Knight at the iMax theater in Fresno, then lunch afterwards. Instead of leaving Molly in the warm garage, I left her in the laundry room in the AC house.

You could imagine my surprise when we returned to find a very happy "loose" dog to greet us at the back door! My first thought was, she climbed over the gate!

But then I saw how she really escaped! She has NEVER done anything like that before!

So while we were out having fun, so was she...I guess I need to find a "metal" gate... any suggestions?

More of the zoo...

A couple weeks ago we went to the zoo...
We saw lots of cool things, I thought this one was interesting...

It's a Binturong and it smells just like popcorn! I kid you not! They had fans in the back of their display/cage and as you walked by you could smell the popcorn!

We also saw a baby Giant Ant Eater (hitchhiking on mom's tail)

Very cute!

I couldn't get enough of the giraffes. Their tongues were so funny...

Bazaar run down...

Saw some "beady" friends that I haven't seen in awhile (always fun!)...

Meet some new "beady" friends, who I've only talked to on line, so that was fun!...

Meet a lot of bead artist who's work I've only seen on line (everything was much prettier in person)...

Bought some new glass (looking forward to trying it out)...

Signed up for a class in November (can't wait)...

Ate dinner at a yummy Italian restaurant in Pleasanton, on the way home (which had outdoor seating for Molly)...

Yes, Molly came too...

It was a fun day...

And the winner is....

I decided to try out random.org to get today's winner for the bird and nest give away kit.
It was so much easier than printing out the names, cutting them into individual pieces and then the pressure of picking just one name...I always seem to pick up two pieces of paper and than the guilt of putting one back, is too much! This was much easier...

And the number was....13...lucky 13?
Well for Gwen it was lucky!

How Bazaar...

First I want to say, thanks again for your emails...

We are all doing better (including Molly)

I'm heading to the Bazaar in Oakland this weekend. I'm looking forward to it. I went to the one in Portland OR a few years ago and it was so much fun.

Yesterday, Molly and I spent most of the day sitting on the floor going through boxes of photos. Trying not to get them wet from tears...I didn't realize that Molly was going to miss Teddy as much as we were...Teddy has been there for Molly all of her life, eating together, playing, going for car rides, walks, napping...

I want to say thank you for the kind emails and postings you have sent...I know Teddy is in a better place now, running on the beach...barking at the seagulls...

Monkeying around

What a fun weekend! We headed to the zoo. My favorite place. Although this little guy above looks a little sad, the moment before this picture was taken he was having a fun time"swinging" with this friends. I think he got bored and decided we looked more interesting??

We also got to feed the giraffes (that's my hand) Their tongues feel somewhat like a cats tongue, but much larger!

Today I have some new beads going on Esty. What time will I be putting the beads up? Each day will be different. Over the last few weeks, I've been getting emails from you, telling me that you can not read my website (pictures overlapping text) So I decided to switch over to blogger...I hope this will work out better for you...

August marks my 6th year of making beads, so to celebrate, next week is customer appreciation week! Woo-hoo!
Each day (Aug.4th-Aug.8th) I'll will be posting new beads on Esty, with FREE shipping. I will hold off shipping your beads until the end of the week, just in case you would like to add to your stash...Plus I'll be including some fun things in every package, like findings, crystals, maybe even a bead or two.
