When Lisa told me about this wine, my first thought was oh yum, it's a dessert wine that taste like cupcakes! But sadly it doesn't, it comes from the winery called Cupcake Vineyards. Cute name though...
I had a feeling that February's Design of the Month was going to be popular. Luckily I planned ahead and made nothing but pigs & lips last week...the first batch of bracelets will be in the mail on Monday. Remember if you need another size other than 7 1/2", just leave a message when checking out.
Have a great weekend...I'm hoping I'll be able to spend a little of it out doors. I don't want to rub it in for those of you that are snowed-in with subzero temps...but this 70 degree weather we are having this last week is giving me Spring fever! All I want to do is lounge around the pool with a good book, go to the nursery and stock up on pretty flowers for the garden and plant my tomato seeds...but I'm not fooled, I know Winter is not over yet, but this hint of Spring sure is nice. xo
Do you remember the Earring of the Month Club, that I had a few years ago? Well, some of you have emailed me over the last couple years asking if I'll bring it back. Well, I've decided to go one step further... Every month I'll offer something new, something fun! It might be a pendant, a bracelet, necklace or earrings, but something fun!
I will take orders for "The Design of the Month" all month long. But once the month is over, the item will no longer be available, as I will be working on orders for the next month's design.
I will post a picture of the new Design of the Month, here on my blog a couple days before the first of the month.
I will then begin taking orders. Please allow 3-5 days for me to complete your design piece.
~Hog and Kisses Bracelet~ (February)
I decided to make my Hog & Kisses beads this month. They have always been a Valentine time favorite. This bracelet has a mix of some of my fun lampwork beads including a hog and lips, pink Swarovski crystals & pearls, sterling toggle, sterling puffy heart charm and sterling findings. Please note that all the silver is sterling, not just silver in color (only the best) 7 1/2" long. (These are made to order so please allow 3-5 days)
If you need a different size, please leave a note in the message box when checking out.
I was so sad to hear Mary Engelbreit's HOME Companion magazine is no longer...I had about two more years left on my subscription, which is being transfered over to Martha Stewart's magazine. It's so sad, it was truly my favorite magazine...come back Mary
I've been busy working on the new "Design of the Month" for February, which I'll show in a couple days. There are still a few more days to order January's design before she flies away into the Winter Forest, never to be seen again...
In honor of Chinese New Year today (Year of the Ox) I'll be celebrating by cookin' up this tasty dish for dinner. While eating dinner tonight, I will also be trying out the new diet... chopsticks! Ha! Happy New Year!
The rain drops are falling, the wood stove is toasty, I smell popcorn popping, we are all cuddled up in our favorite throws (even Molly) and I'm getting ready to pop in a DVD...it's a perfect day... Have a wonderful Sunday. xo
What's a girl to do? The movie Ink Heart opened yesterday and I really want to see it! But I haven't read the book yet and I hear it's really a good read! So should I go see the movie first and hope that it won't ruin the book for me or read the book first and see the movie when it comes out on DVD? Decisions, decisions...
My New Years Resolution this year was not to loose weight, but it was to start eating healthier. I also want to exercise more...Not just for the month of January, but every month this year. I figured if I stick to those two things, I may just loose a few pounds as well. So far, things have been going pretty well, that was until yesterday... Martha's show was all about CUPCAKES! My weakness! I love those moist little things with lots of fluffy frosting piled high...oh I'm salivating just thinking about it...ok, I love anything sweet like chocolate, cookies, ice cream... BUT I LOVE CUPCAKES! She even has a Cupcake book coming out soon (I love her cookie book) Have you seen February's magazine yet? OMG, I could eat them all...
Martha, you're killing me! Maybe I'll tempt Miss Molly with a new bed...
As for beads, new goodies will be in my Etsy store this morning at 10am (PST) and no, there won't be any cupcakes...
It's suppose to be a wet weekend here, so maybe I'll get my "cupcake" fix and buy a pair of these sweet things... Have a great weekend... ox
After a day trip to Zion a couple weeks ago, we headed over to Dead Horse Point to watch the sunset, we were the only 3 people in the whole park. Maybe it was due to the time of day and the temp (it was freezing!) The view was amazing, you could see the Colorado River below. Another amazing thing about the pictures above, they were taken when it was almost dark, really! (with a long shutter speed)
I have a couple more goodies (a bracelet and a Fairy) coming up today, plus I'll be adding things over this weekend (all Valentine goodies)
It's hard to believe just a short time ago this is the kind of weather I was in (photo taken at Zion lodge)...this morning I was sitting on my back deck sipping coffee, trying not to get sunburned in this gorgeous weather we are having. I wish it would stay like this, but I know Winter is not over yet...but it's nice to daydream...
ok, time for me to get back to work...I have something new coming up a little later today. Hope you'll come back to see... ox
Are you in the mood for a good movie? Last week I saw two really good ones... The first one was one I hadn't heard to much about, I thought the name was interesting, Slumdog Millionaire...and it was VERY GOOD!! I really liked it!
The other was Gran Torino, Yes Clint, you made my day... Two thumbs up...
But, it seems like you guys would me to offer my goodies here on my blog, but coming in at a close 2nd was #4 (mix it up)
Then I went to Random.org and had them pick us a winner...they drew the number 42...so I counted down the list (3 times) and the winner is...
Pam B. from CT
#1 for me! As much as I love ETSY, I read your blog every day and appreciate the simplification of your postings there.
Congrats to Pam! Email me your Snail Mail address Pam and I'll send you your Winter Fairy! Thanks again everyone for your input...come back tomorrow, I just might just have a little something here on my blog for sale...
When we started out on our adventure, Kurt decided to wear his comfy slippers while he was driving...but they turned into The Husbandhood of the Traveling Slippers. He wore those slippers for the WHOLE trip and I do mean the whole trip! Those slippers saw the cliffs of the Grand Canyon, the snow in Zion, even the puddles at the Arches. Even my little joke got old, when he would slip in the snow, I'd say "well if you weren't wearing slippers" lol
Needless to say, the first thing I did when we got home, was to slip those slippers in the washer! Husbands can be so funny!
Home...we're back... While seeing many beautiful sites over this last week (the arches were my favorite) it feels good to be home again. I missed my flannel sheets and electric blanket, there is nothing like sleeping in ones own bed. Plus, Molly prefers grass to snow any day! While in Utah, I didn't find one public restroom with those little paper toilet seat covers (something I take for granted) Really, not even one. We even stopped at a Walmart (I could not find a Target) to pick up a couple things, so I made a pit stop. I walked in and I was impressed...Everything was so nice & new. Everything was motion activated, the flushing toilets, faucets and towel dispensers (I love all those hands-free goodies) but no paper toilet seat covers? I checked all the stalls, nothing! Are those just a Cali thing?
I'll be working over the next few days on "Fairy" pendant orders I received while I was away. So those will be fluttering off to their new homes very soon... I also have some new things, but I need to take pictures of those first. So look for those soon... ox
We made it to the upper part of Utah, on our way to Yellowstone (Wyoming) But we decided we had enough cold & snow. So we are heading back West (home) to thaw out... We'll go to Yellowstone this Spring, after the snow is gone... xo
Greetings from the Arches. It was a nippy -5 degrees (YES minus five) this morning! This CA girl is not use to it being so cold! But, it warmed up to a balmy 26 degrees. As you can see Miss Molly stayed in my jacket the whole day. We spent the day hiking, climbing and photographing the arches.
Anthony standing inside an arch.
I spied Kurt photographing this arch in the above photos (he's on the bottom/right of the arch) His photo turned out so good.
I'm not sure where we are headed tomorrow. If you can't tell, this is a photo trip of Anthony's choice, he is picking the destinations (which he is having fun doing) and playing navigator, Kurt's the driver and Molly and I have the back seat. Which I'm thoroughly enjoying, I have nothing to do, just sit back and enjoy the ride... ox
Arrived at Zion today. Beautiful place. Weather was nice, so we took a long hike. Any kids we saw along the way, had to stop and say hi to Molly. They all thought it was funny that Molly wore a jacket too (kids love tiny dogs and luckily Molly loves them too) xo
My name is Maria and I live in California (smack dab in the middle) with my husband, Kurt & my chihuahua, Miss Molly.
